Marc is an experienced commercial lawyer and litigator, responsible for Almain’s Technology, Data Protection and Intellectual Property practice.
Technology
Marc regularly advises on major IT implementations, IT outsourcings, software development and licensing issues. He has significant experience in relation to technology acquisitions and implementations, software and system developments, and outsourcing, across a range of sectors including financial services, human resources and industry.
Data protection
Marc advises clients on privacy and confidentiality issues, especially with respect to GDPR. His practice particularly focuses on external DPO services, data breaches, CNIL enquiries and transfers of data.
Intellectual property
Marc advises on all areas on intellectual property, from creation, to exploitation and enforcement. He has significant experience in branding, copyright patent and database matters, unfair competition and franchising.
- Advised an American company in the negotiation of a contract for the implementation of a railway infrastructure modeling and management platform
- Defended a manufacturer of phytosanitary products in a patent infringement action
- Advised an American company offering a risk management and insurance policy platform in the negotiation of its contracts with French customers
- Advised a Femtech in connection with a CNIL investigation
- External Data Protection Officer for several companies
- Advised an American satellite internet service provider for its entry into the French market
- Defended a producer of medical devices in a dispute with an employee concerning additional remuneration following patent filings
- Advised a banking software editor in the negotiation of a license agreement in Morocco
- Advised an ERP publisher in the negotiation of its contracts
- Advised an acoustic engineering company in the licensing of its technology.
